Wayne State gets $407.8 million gift

Donation to engineering program is largest ever at the university.

Wayne State University in Detroit is receiving a $407.8-million gift of software and equipment for its College of Engineering. The donation from Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering Education (PACE), a consortium that includes General Motors Corp., EDS, Hewlett-Packard, Siemens UGS PLM Software and Sun Microsystems, is the largest-ever donation to Wayne State and will enable students to learn on the same software and equipment used by GM engineers.
