Schools seek better choices in vending machines
Three high schools in the Conroe (Texas) district are part of a pilot program to stock school vending machines with more healthful foods. The pilot program includes 15 schools in Conroe, Corpus Christi, Mesa, Ariz., Denver, Colo., and Shawnee Mission, Kan. Items such as yogurt, sandwiches, salads, wraps, milk, fresh fruits and vegetables and chips sell for $2-$3 for a full meal.
