Suspect in slaying of Wesleyan University student held on $15 million bond

From The New York Times: A judge in Middletown, Conn., has raised the bail for the man accused of fatally shooting a Wesleyan University junior in a bookstore near the campus to $15 million. Stephan P. Morgan, 29, is accused of shooting Johanna Justin-Jinich, 21, in a downtown Middletown bookstore. The lives of Justin-Jinich and Morgan had intersected briefly two years ago, when both attended a summer course at New York University. He called repeatedly and sent 38 harassing e-mail messages. The university and the police were notified, but he had left town and she declined to press charges.

EARLIER....From The Middletown Journal: Police in Middletown, Conn., are still looking for the man who they say fatally shot Wesleyan University junior Johanna Justin-Jinich in a bookstore cafe near the campus. Justin-Jinich was working her job at the Red and Black Cafe when 29-year-old Stephen Morgan walked in and allegedly shot her several times. The shooting occurred one day after Wesleyan University classes had ended. Wesleyan, which has about 3,000 students, and all neighboring public and private schools were locked down as a precaution. Justin-Jinich, who is from Colorado, was a 2006 graduate of Westtown School, a private boarding school in West Chester, Pa.
