Oklahoma State University signs wind power agreement

60-megawatt wind farm will enable utility to meet campus energy needs

News release: Oklahoma State University has signed a 20-year agreement the the utility OG&E to provide wind power to the Stillwater campus. The deal will enable OSU to phase out the university’s existing 62-year-old on-campus cogeneration facility and construct a new more efficient boiler/chiller plant. OG&E plans to contract with NextEra Energy to build a 60-megawatt wind farm near Blackwell, Okla., to provide energy to the university.
