Elmbrook (Wis.) bond issue defeated
Voters in the Elmbrook (Wis.) School District have rejected a request to spend $108.8 million to revamp the district's two high schools. One ballot question sought $99.3 million to renovate and expand Brookfield Central and East high schools. A second question asked for $9.5 million to add field houses to each of the schools. Opponents of the proposal say the cost and scope of the plan led to its defeat.
