Official tally turns bond defeat into victory in Euclid (Ohio) district
FromThe Cleveland Plain Dealer: The $40.3 million bond issue that apparently failed Nov. 3 in the Euclid (Ohio) district has been certified as passing by 75 votes. The final official tally from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections included provisional ballots and absentee ballots mailed in the final days before the election. The unofficial vote had the proposal failing by 44 votes. The money will be used to build four new elementary schools, replacing the seven deteriorating buildings that now house grades kindergarten to five. The state will chip in $25 million, or 41 percent of the estimated cost.
