University of Texas and Austin district may team up to develop middle school

Officials hope program would become a model for urban middle schools
April 23, 2009

From The Austin American-Statesman: The University of Texas and the Austin school district are considering a partnership to develop a middle school. The plan would leverage university resources, including teacher preparation and curriculum development programs, to create what district officials hope will become a model middle school for urban districts nationwide. Current plans call for a school to open — possibly on the Martin Middle School campus — in August 2010.
