Champlain College celebrated its 50-year anniversary in Burlington, Vt. In 1958, the school offered two-year associate degree programs ato about 60 students in one building; now it has 42 buildings and about 1,950 undergraduates (80 percent from out of state). The growth has not come without stresses in the neighborhood, where residents have opposed some new buildings, are girding for more, and express concern that the college’s capital expansion imperils the residential ambience.To read The Burlington Free Press article, click here.
