Capital request for residence halls in 2012-13 comes to $400 million
Dec. 19, 2011

From The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle: Planned construction for the coming fiscal year would add nearly 2,000 new beds at six State University of New York campuses. The $400 million in residence hall projects are included in SUNY's $1.69 billion capital budget request for 2012-13. Other parts of the request are $550 million for critical maintenance, $137 million for the state's share of capital projects at community colleges and $600 million for academic health centers. With aging buildings and growing enrollment, SUNY schools have plans for more than 100 residence hall projects in the coming years.
