From The Wilmington News Journal: University of Delaware leaders, vowing to cut the school's carbon emissions 20 percent by 2020, envision a future in which campus buildings will be lighted by solar power, buses will run on hydrogen fuel cells and students and faculty will get paid to leave their cars at home. Increasing renewable energy on campus is a major component of the plan. By 2020, the school says, 10 percent of its electricity will come from sources such as geothermal heat pumps, a fuel-cell power facility and offshore wind power. Solar panels will cover the roofs of 15 to 18 campus buildings.
