Gunfire from 5th grader wounds school administrator

Transportation director in South Callaway (Mo.) district is treated for wounds on arm and wrist.

Callaway County, Mo., sheriff's officials are still uncertain what led an 11-year-old boy to leave school, arm himself with a weapon and then shoot a school official that had gone in search of him. The boy - a fifth-grader at South Callaway Middle School in Mokane, Mo. - was apprehended moments after the shooting and is facing first-degree assault, armed criminal action, burglary and stealing charges. The shooting victim - Donnie Debrodie, director of transportation - suffered wounds in the arm and wrist area and was treated at a hospital and released.
