Prep school in Baltimore County, Md., will expand campus

Maryvale Preparatory School plans a three-story humanities building
July 23, 2009

From The Baltimore Sun: Maryvale Preparatory School, a private school in Baltimore County, Md., with a nearly century-old castle at the center of its campus, plans to construct a three-story humanities building. Maryvale, which educates about 400 girls in grades six to 12, opened nearly 65 years ago in the castle, which was patterned after a British medieval manor. The home, built in 1916 with 65 rooms and a great hall, is designated and preserved as a Baltimore County landmark. Over the years, Maryvale has added buildings, science and computer labs, and a learning center on its 115-acre campus. The humanities building will house an auditorium, galleries and about six classrooms.
