Setback for proposed Hebrew-language charter school in California

William Hart High School Board deadlocks on whether to grant charter
Feb. 5, 2010
From The Los Angeles Times: A proposal to open the first Hebrew-language charter school in California has been handed a major setback when school board members in the William S. Hart Union High School District deadlocked over the project's approval. Several board members said they worried that the school would be a religious academy and might lack ethnic diversity. Supporters of the proposed Albert Einstein Academy for Letters, Arts and Sciences say they will appeal to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
