University of Michigan to get new football practice facility

Regents approve plans for $26.1 million facility.

The University of Michigan Board of Regents has approved plans for a $26.1 million indoor football practice facility that will provide a safer practice environment for players. The will have about 104,000 square feet and will be built on an existing outdoor field. It is expected to include an full-sized football field, a lobby, restrooms and storage space. It is scheduled to open in early 2009. The architect is Jickling Lyman Powell Associates.
