Palm Beach district cracks down on enrollment violations
Parents in the the Palm Beach County (Fla.) School District better think twice before lying to enroll their children in a public school outside their home boundaries. The district is enforcing new, tougher rules this year for student enrollment that are aimed at eliminating, or at least reducing, the illegal practice of boundary jumping. Parents of new and returning students must declare their legal address under penalty of perjury, a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
