Rural Minnesota district approves $78 million school consolidation plan
Dec. 10, 2009
St. Louis County district will build 2 schools, renovate 3 existing sites and close 4 campuses
From The Duluth Tribune: Voters in St. Louis County (Minn.) School District 2142 have passed a $78 million bond referendum that will result in the construction of two new schools and the closing of four campuses. If the referendum had failed, school officials say the district might have been dissolved. The district, with the largest geographical area in the state, has been losing enrollment and could not continue to operate seven schools.
