Voters in Bangor (Mich.) district reject bond proposal

$11.9 million plan would have included roof replacements, technology upgrades

The Bangor (Mich.) school district has failed to win approval of a $11.9 million bond issue to fix up the schools. The money would have been allocated for roof replacement, blacktopping, replacing parking areas, new wiring to handle current technology plus more energy-efficient doors and windows. The proposal also included upgrades to playgrounds, athletic and physical education facilities.
