Teachers use portable defibrillator to get victim's heart started
From The Indianapolis Star: The principal of Lowell Elementary School in the Warren Township (Ind.) district is alive because of some colleagues' quick actions. Susan Howard, 58, collapsed during a staff meeting at the school. When colleagues rushed to her side, they found her unresponsive and could not detect a pulse. Two teachers, Christy Hartman and Anne McGrath, grabbed one of the school's portable defibrillator units and put the training they had received into use. After receiving the defibrillator's shock, Howard, who had suffered a heart attack, regained a pulse. She is recuperating at a local hospital
