Phil Wright accused of improperly spending district funds

Liberty (Mo.) School Superintendent Phil Wright has resigned and two other top administrators have been placed on paid leave in the wake of alleged abuses of district credit cards. The Liberty school board has been under pressure to take action on information that administrators, including Wright, had misused district credit cards and failed to provide receipts for purchases made with district money. Steve Fleming, assistant superintendent for human resources, and Jim Hammen, executive director of certified personnel, were placed on indefinite administrative leave.
