New high school nearly ready in East Central (Texas) district

Two-story building will replace hodgepodge of structures

From The San Antonio Express-News: The East Central (Texas) Independent School District in San Antonio is putting finishing touches on its rebuilt high school — a metamorphosis from a hodgepodge of decades-old buildings made of cinder blocks and trailers into a new two-story structure. The district used a $50 million bond approved in 2008 to pay for the new campus. The old school buildings — some of which were 40 years old and lacked insulation — were demolished. With 2,700 students, the new campus and is the district's only high school.
