Drury University bans hard liquor from campus

Springfield, Mo., school's restrictions apply even to those of legal age
Sept. 24, 2008

Drury University in Springfield, Mo., has announced it is banning hard liquor from campus. The school is investigating alcohol use by students in the wake of an off-campus party that led to charges against 16 underage drinkers. The ban on hard liquor applies to all students, though those age 21 and over will still be allowed to drink beer and wine. After the Sept. 13 off-campus party left one student hospitalized, the school decided a crackdown was necessary.
