Cost of renovating State College, Pa., high school climbs
The State College Area (Pa.) School District has plans to renovate its high school, but initial bids on the work exceed the $102 million budget by $11 million. District administrators expressed disappointment that the bid requests for general contractor, plumbing and HVAC work each drew only a single response. The plans call for renovating and adding on to the existing north building on the high school campus. The completed building would have about 544,000 square feet. The architect is L. Robert Kimball and Associates.
