Document identifies 15 principles to consider when developing policy on student restraints
News release: The U.S. Department of Education has issued a document to help school systems develop written policies regarding the use of seclusion and restraint of students. The department has identified 15 principles that school systems should consider “to ensure that use of restraint or seclusion...does not occur except when there is a threat of imminent danger of serious physical harm to the student or others.”
