Macalester College facility earns a LEED platinum rating

Markim Hall houses the Institute for Global Citizenship on the St. Paul, Minn., campus

From The St. Paul Pioneer Press: Markim Hall at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., has received a platinum LEED rating from the U.S. Green Building Council. It is the first college or university building in the state to receive a platinum rating, the Council's top designation. The building, which houses the Institute for Global Citizenship, cost $7.7 million to build, about 15 percent more than otherwise would have been spent. The architect is Bruner/Cott & Associates.
