Ergonomics advocate for children dies

Cheryl Bennett served as chair of the Ergonomics for Children & Educational Environments committee of the International Ergonomics Assoiciation.

Cheryl Lynn Bennett, remembered best in her profession for untiring efforts to extend the benefits of ergonomics to children, passed away earlier this month. Bennett’s interest in what is sometimes referred to as "schoolhouse ergonomics" expanded during her 21 years at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and she achieved considerable recognition for her work in the specialty. She initiated the technical committee for the International Ergonomics Association on designing Educational Environments for Children, and served as the committee chair.
