Second Oregon district denies charter application

Group has sought to open school in Hillsboro and Beaverton districts
June 11, 2009

The Hillsboro (Ore.) School Board has denied a group's application to establish Knova Hillsboro Charter School, the second blow to the charter group in about a week. Beaverton School District turned down the charter school's application on June 1. But John Liljegren, Knova vice president of organizational development, remains hopeful after the Hillsboro decision. Knova has applied in three school districts this year, and the Reynolds School District is still considering the application.
