William Hite chosen as superintendent in Philadelphia
From The Philadelphia Inquirer: William R. Hite Jr. has been chosen as the new superintendent of the Philadelphia School District. The School Reform Commission selected Hite, 51, who has been the schools chief in Prince George's County (Md.) district since 2009. He's also worked as deputy superintendent there and in the Cobb County (Ga.) district. He was a teacher, principal, and central office staffer in the Henrico County (Va.) system.
