Student loan borrowers overcharged, lawsuit filed
A lawsuit filed against the U.S. Department of Education yesterday says the department essentially imposed late fees on more than 3 million student loan borrowers even though their payments were made on time. A computer glitch apparently caused the problem. It is unclear how much borrowers were overcharged.
