Failure of private development projects creates opportunities for school system

From The New York Times: The downturn in the real estate market has afforded New York City’s School Construction Authority new opportunities for acquiring potential school sites, including stalled residential developments. As residential condominiums, office towers and other private sector projects have faltered, the authority has swooped in to take advantage of lower construction costs, amenable landlords and available land.
