Plans uncertain for president’s residence at University of California at Berkeley

Unoccupied since 2008, Blake House needs millions in repairs

From The Los Angeles Times: Blake House, the mansion near Berkeley, Calif., that is intended to be the official residence of the University of California president has not been occupied since 2008. The future of the 13,200-square-foot house and more than 10 acres of gardens are uncertain. University leaders are trying to decide whether to make repairs at that are estimated at $2 million, or even pursue a more ambitious $10-million renovation proposal to bring the 84-year-old mansion up to date.
