Charter high school seeks to open in Casper, Wyo.

Campus would be modeled on school in Redmond, Ore.
Nov. 23, 2010

From The Casper Star-Tribune: Educators in Oregon have completed the first step to founding a charter school in Casper, Wyo. The college-preparatory high school would open in fall 2012 and would be modeled on the Redmond Proficiency Academy in Redmond, Ore. The school would accommodate 300 to 400 students in grades nine through 12. Wyoming only has three charter schools in operation, despite a fairly open law that does not cap the number of charters. The law limits new charters by vesting the power to approve new schools with the local school board.
