From The New York Times: Four years after taking over an 81-acre campus in Southampton, N.Y., from Long Island University, Stony Brook University says it will close most programs at the site and stop accepting undergraduate applications. The cuts, which would save $6 million, are part of a larger package of spending reductions the university is making in response to two years of state budget cuts to the State University of New York.
