Ruling declares that district's policy violated equal protection clause of constitution
From The Cincinnati Enquirer: A federal judge has declared unconstitutional the Cincinnati school district's efforts to ensure racial balance of its teaching staff. U.S. District Court Judge Susan Dlott says the district may no longer consider race when making staff employment decisions. She has concluded that both district policy and parts of its teacher union contract violate the Constitution's guarantee of equal protection under the law.
