Economic outlook brightens at Boston University

After cutting spending and canceling projects last year, the university now is looking to hire

A year ago, Boston University sounded the alarm on an impending financial crisis and curbed spending, froze staff hiring, and halted construction. Now, the economic picture has brightened, and the university is looking to fill 159 jobs, including lab technicians, research fellows, and custodial and clerical staff; at this time last year, it listed only 48 open positions.
