Grossmont (Calif.) district takes step forward in planning new high school
The Grossmont (Calif.) Union High School District is creating a commission to study the possible construction of a school in the Alpine area. The action is a hopeful sign for residents that have expressed concern about the lack of progress in securing a site to build a school in their area. The district passed a $274 million bond measure in 2004, but officials are concerned that it will not have enough to build the high school and complete other construction projects.
