Tennessee districts want more pre-kindergarten

Districts look to add 303 pre-K classrooms to the 934 that already are in place.

Tennessee school districts want to add more than 300 pre-kindergarten classrooms next year, but it will cost another $26.6 million a year. There are 934 classes now, mostly funded by the state. Memphis City Schools, the state's largest district, would add 20 to the 108 it already has.
