Cooley Building will be converted to a convention center

From The Jackson Clarion-Ledger: Plans are under way to renovate Mississippi State University's 108-year-old Cooley Building into a convention center, anchoring a $176 million, mixed-use development at the edge of the Starkville campus. The $64 million first phase includes turning the building into a conference center with office space and building a 150-bed hotel. Future phases include an upscale shopping center and restaurants.
