South Carolina district proposes $125 million bond

Oct. 19, 2007
Money would pay to build seven schools in Florence District 1.

Voters in Florence (S.C.) School District 1 will decide next month whether to approve a $125 million bond request. The money would enable the district to build five elementary schools and two middle schools, and renovate an existing middle school. With new facilities, the district could reduce its dependence on portable classrooms, which now house about 2,500 students.
