Four schools will use sophisticated equipment to study genetics

From The Boston Globe: Tufts University is lending $40,000 worth of scientific equipment this fall to four Boston-area high schools, as part of a collaboration designed to provide students with hands-on experience with the latest lab technologies. With the assistance of a few Tufts undergraduates, the students will try to pinpoint where in the world their maternal ancestors lived 70,000 years ago, and test whether certain soy-based foods been genetically modified.
