Alaska district seeks renovation funds

Dillingham voters to decide on $15.1 million bond request

Voters in Dillingham, Alaska, will go to the polls on Dec. 18 to decide whether to approve a $15.1 million bond request for school renovations. The money would enable the district to renovate its 1950s-era high school building and an elementary facility built in 1980. Both campuses need upgrades to meet existing codes and to accommodate advances in technology. If voters approve the request, the state is expected to reimburse the city for 70 percent of the project costs.
