Rochester (N.Y.) board lays off 130 teachers

From The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle: The Rochester (N.Y.) school board has laid off 130 teachers, but for now has spared a group of 40 music teachers, school psychologists and social workers. Board members that shot down a resolution to lay off the additional 40 staffers say the plan cuts too deeply from programs.
