System faces potential $78 million budget shortfall
From The Charlotte Observer: The worst-case scenario for Charlotte-Mecklenburg (N.C.) Schools job cuts has grown to 1,030. Under Superintendent Peter Gorman's 2010-11 budget plan, 164 teacher assistants would be cut, along with about 600 teachers and 250 other employees, to cover a possible $78 million budget gap.
