Maryland district boosts facilities budget

Montgomery County anticipates more state aid for buildings.

The Montgomery County (Md.) school board has approved a $269 million facilities spending plan for the next fiscal year, a $30 million increase over the budget approved by the County Council. School officials say they increased the capital budget after learning that the county probably would receive substantially more than the $40 million in state aid that had been budgeted by the County Council.
