Renovations begin at Akron girls' school
Our Lady of the Elms School, a private K-12 Catholic girls' school in Akron, Ohio, has broken ground on a $7.31 million renovation and expansion. The project will convert the existing gymnasium into performing arts and fitness centers, renovate the theater, build a new gymnasium, renovate the student commons and expand parking. The project will use low-VOC paints, adhesives and sealants to improve indoor air quality; recycled content building materials, and an energy-efficient HVAC system with environmentally friendly refrigerants. The architect is Doty & Miller Architects.
