Minnesota district begins tearing down high school destroyed by tornado

Wadena-Deer Creek officials hope to open new school in 2012

FromThe Brainerd Dispatch: It was an emotional day in the Wadena-Deer Creek (Minn.) School District as students and staff members watched the beginning of the demolition of the high school that was destroyed by a June 17 tornado. The demolition will take five weeks. Officials hope to break ground by April on a new school, which will hold grades 5 through 12. It is expected to open in 2012.
