Private information about thousands of Williamson County, Tenn., school children was posted on a personal web site almost a year ago, but school officials didn't realize it until they learned that a Web-surfing child found evidence of the breach in late June. The discovery of the security violation, which could involve as many as 17,000 students and faculty members, has caused a furor among parents whose children have been affected. The greatest concern is for identity theft .
