Lisbon, Maine, voters turn down request for renovation funds

High school facility badly needs repair or replacement.
April 24, 2009

From WMTW-TV: Voters in Lisbon, Maine, have voted down a $500,000 bond issue that would have provided funds for assessing renovation options for the town's high school. The school is in a desperate state of disrepair with leaky roofs, and walls separating from the foundation. The Maine Principal's Association will not allow the school to host playoff basketball games because the gymnasium is so unsafe.
