New York district seeks funds for facility upgrades

Money would pay for better insulation, windows, heating

The Valley Central (N.Y.) school district is seeking voter approval next week for a $7.15 million bond proposal. The bonds would provide funds for upgrading insulation, heating units, windows, fire alarms and emergency lighting in the district's high school and middle school. State funding is expected to cover about 90 percent of the costs. The public will vote Jan. 15.
