Cincinnati plans groundbreaking for elementary

John Parker school will be built on same campus as existing school.

The Cincinnati (Ohio) district is scheduled to break ground this week on John P. Parker Elementary School. The 76,700-square-foot school is to replace an existing facility and will hold 550 students in grades pre-K to 8. The current building, situated in what will be the new parking lots, will be demolished after students move into the new building. The $16.1 million facility is expected to open in 2009. The architect is Voorhis, Stone, Welsh, Crossland.
