Supporters say proposed state budget does not include enough funding

The governor's proposed 2009-10 budget includes $1.5 million for new charter schools. The governor initially earmarked the funds for two charter proposals, but subsequently decided to have the Board of Regents for Elementary and Secondary Education, determine which schools are ready.
